Slicemail

Stop copy-pasting weekly reports into email.

Slicemail turns one Google Sheets report into a separate email for each person, with only the rows that belong to them. Preview every email and catch mistakes before anything sends.

Try the demo reportRuns in Google Sheets. Uses your Gmail. Nothing sends without your approval.
Before24 rows in one weekly sheet, 4 sites, 3 managers
After3 emailsRiverside to Avery, Harbor to Blake, Hilltop to Finley, each with only their rows
Caught first2 problemsLakeside's rows had no one to go to, and Hilltop's sheet had a #DIV/0!

One sheet in. One email per person out.

Keep one report in Google Sheets. Slicemail groups the rows by recipient and builds a separate email for each person, with their totals and the colours your sheet already uses. These are the demo's three, as the add-on renders them.

Same report. A different person, and only their rows.

Catch problems before they become emails.

The preview checks the report the way a careful colleague would, and tells you before anything goes out.

In the demo report, it finds two

  • Lakeside has 3 rows and no manager, so they would go to no one.
  • Hilltop's email would show #DIV/0! for Sunday's average order.
  • Rows that would reach no one
  • Formula errors such as #DIV/0!, #REF! and #N/A in what is sent
  • Recipients outside your organisation
  • Emails long enough for Gmail to cut off
  • People whose email would be empty

Nothing sends until you approve it.

Built for the reports you already send.

Each is a ready-made example: one click writes the demo data into your sheet and opens the report.

How it works

  1. Choose your reportOpen Slicemail in the sheet that holds it, and say whose each row is.
  2. Write the email onceSubject, message and table, with fields like the site or the week.
  3. Review every emailSee each person's email, and anything that needs fixing first.
  4. Approve and sendNow, or on a schedule that waits for your approval each time.

Your data stays in Google.

Slicemail runs inside your own Google account, with no server or database of its own. It reads only the spreadsheet it is open in and the one Google Doc that holds your reports, and emails leave through your Gmail.

Questions

Does anything send without my approval?

No. Emails go out when you press Send in the preview. A scheduled report is built for you on time, then waits for you to review and approve it.

Can I see every email before it sends?

Yes. The preview lists every email, who it goes to and how many rows it carries, and you can open each one as its recipient will see it.

What happens to rows with no recipient?

The preview says so before anything is sent, names how many rows would go to no one, and can select them in the sheet, so you can add the person or leave them out on purpose.

Does Slicemail upload my spreadsheet?

No. Slicemail is an add-on that runs as Google Apps Script inside your own Google account. There is no Slicemail server or database; your report never leaves Google.

Can each person get different rows?

Yes, that is what it does. Choose the column that says whose a row is, such as Site, Owner or Email, and each person's email carries only their rows.

Does it keep my sheet's formatting?

It keeps fills, text colours, bold, italic, alignment and number formats as the sheet shows them. Colours that come from conditional formatting are not carried over yet.

Does it work with Google Workspace?

Yes, with Workspace accounts where your admin allows add-ons, and with personal Google accounts. It sends through your account, so your normal daily sending limit applies.

What if someone leaves or changes role?

Recipients come from your sheet. Change the name or address there and the next preview follows it; rows left without anyone are flagged.

One report in. One email per person, with only their rows.
